NBN Group - Behavioral Health

New Behavioral Network

The Behavioral Consultation Program is based on Applied Behavioral Analysis principles and practices for those children and adults on the autism spectrum. Our mission is to provide evidenced-based best practice strategies to maximize the personal potential of each client. Compassion and sensitivity are combined with clinical competence and expertise. Our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts will conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) in the home and in the school setting to evaluate a learner’s current skill levels and any challenging behavior that might impede independence or success across environments. A treatment plan is then developed that targets acquisition of skills that will improve a learner's successful integration into his or her community, as  well as to reduce socially inappropriate or impeding behaviors.

Our experienced staff includes:

  • Board Certified Behavioral Analysts
  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts
  • Behavior Interventionists
  • Registered Behavior Technicians

Consultation services include:

  • Functional Behavioral Assessments
  • Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Successful transition of students back into school districts
  • Home programming with parental involvement
  • Classroom management
  • Staff training and coaching

Certified Behavior Analysts provide coaching in home and school settings and are trained in the following:

  • Discrete trial instruction
  • Functional communication training
  • Potty training
  • Increasing functional skills
  • Implementation of visual mediation
  • Caregiver skill engagement
  • Home/school modifications
  • Social skills programming

ABA specialists shadow students in mainstream school settings, facilitating reinforcement strategies, prompting procedures, redirection, de-escalation techniques and errorless teaching strategies. All members of or staff are certified in safety training.

Parent Empowerment Program

We offer comprehensive programming aimed at providing parents the tools to help their child reach his or her fullest potential through modeling, observation, coaching and training.

Group training includes:

  • Safety certification
  • Reinforcements
  • Prompts
  • Principles of ABA

Discreet trial training is often employed to break down skills and teach each part of a skill, while prompting and positive reinforcements may be utilized and faded as skill mastery is achieved.

Maladaptive behaviors are analyzed and a program is designed to replace the challenging behaviors with appropriate behaviors.
